Electro Punk

Electropunk is an umbrella term that describes the combination of electronic music with the attitude of punk. Popular and important artists of the early electropunk period were Nitzer Ebb, Suicide from the USA, DAF and Liaisons Dangereuses from Germany, Portion Control from the UK, and Dead Inside the Chrysalis from Australia.

The term has tended to be used in relation to bands of this type that do not fit neatly into any other genre category, for example Sheep on Drugs and, more recently, a new wave of bands fusing punk with electronics, including the UK's Discordinated, Sicknote, Death by Television, Germany's Warren Suicide, America's Avenpitch and The Show Is the Rainbow, and the Czech Republic's Sunshine.
